When life changes, support matters.

Just weeks after Christmas 2024, Goldie was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND).

The future he and his wife Ruth had planned together changed overnight.

Like many families facing a neurological condition, they suddenly found themselves navigating uncertainty and asking difficult questions about what the future might hold.

That's when they turned to MS Queensland.

Through trusted information, guidance and support, Goldie and Ruth found someone to help them navigate the road ahead and ensure they didn't have to face MND alone.

Please donate today to help more families like Goldie and Ruth’s find the guidance and support they need.

Goldie's journey with MND

Just weeks after Christmas 2024, Goldie and his wife, Ruth, sat in a specialist’s room, hearing the shocking words:

“I’ve got bad news, you’ve got MND”.

Over the next two years, MND gradually took away Goldie’s movement, his voice and many of the everyday things he loved

Like many families facing a neurological condition, Goldie and Ruth suddenly found themselves navigating an uncertain future.

As the reality of MND began to set in, they realised they couldn't face it alone.

"We’re lucky we can always count on MS Queensland to answer the phone and support us."

For Ruth and Goldie, support was there when they needed it most. Someone to answer their questions, help them navigate the road ahead and ensure they didn't have to face the challenges of a neurological condition alone.

This Christmas, your donation can help ensure more families facing neurological conditions have somewhere to turn for trusted support, connection and guidance when life changes overnight.
