With your help families like Judy’s can access vital support and services when they need it most.

Help someone navigate their neuro journey

Every day across Queensland, people are navigating life with a neurological condition—often without a map.

Neurological conditions such as dementia, MS, Parkinson’s and stroke can take someone's life off course, stealing memory, mobility and independence.

More than 1.3 million Queenslanders are living with a neurological condition, and just 6% of these people receive vital support.

For Judy and her family, that reality became overwhelming. As her dementia progressed, they didn't know where to turn.

That’s when Vicki, an MS Queensland Community Navigator, connected them with the support and services they needed.

Please donate today to help more families like Judy’s find the guidance and support they need.

This video tells the story of Judy, who lived with early onset dementia from the age of 56. Following filming, Judy passed away peacefully. With her family's blessing, her story is being shared in the hope it helps others.

Judy's Story

Judy was just 56 when she was diagnosed with early onset dementia.

Her daughter Denita watched her mum who had always been capable, busy, and deeply connected to her community become confused and uncertain.

“Dementia stole my mother. It stole my children’s grandmother. It stole her certainty.”

Judy’s journey living with dementia became all too much for her daughters to solely care for her.

That’s when Vicki, an MS Queensland Community Navigator, connected the family with support, services and a community who cared.

Meet Vicki

Vicki knows first-hand what it feels like to try and connect to the right care for someone you love.

When her partner of 41 years suffered a catastrophic stroke, she felt lost and alone, leaving hospital with no direction or support.

Vicki vowed that no family should ever face this type of loss alone.

Vicki now works as a Community Navigator for MS Queensland, helping families through the uncertainty of a diagnosis and connecting them to the support and services they need.

Your donation will help Vicki be that crucial navigator connecting someone with the right supports at the right time.
