Earlier this year, MS Australia released a new report showing the number of Australians living with MS is increasing at a significant rate.

More than 33,300 people in Australia now live with MS including over 5,500 Queenslanders.

That’s an increase of 40% in a four-year period.

This means more people living with MS are feeling isolated and invisible, and our goal is that no one faces their MS journey alone.

With the number of people affected by MS continuing to rise, ensuring that support is there for Queenslanders facing this diagnosis is more important than ever.

3 out of 4 people diagnosed are women

Choose an amount you would like to donate regularly, from as little as $1 per day! Whatever amount works for your budget. You can change or cancel at any time.

More than 10 Aussies are diagnosed every week

Your credit card or debit card will then be automatically debited each month. It also means less administrative work for us in terms of processing and receipting your generous donations.

Average age of someone diagnosed is 30

A consolidated receipt of all your donations will be sent to you in July each year, including any other one-off donations you make. This will make tax-time slightly easier for you!

Our help lines have stayed open because of supporters like you. We have a small team of highly trained staff on hand to take calls from people living with MS and their loved ones, at whatever stage of their journey they are at.

Last year we received over 6,800 calls for support.

There are more people who are struggling to cope with a new diagnosis or their symptoms are progressing – and a call to our NeuroAssist Line can take them from uncertain to supported. Knowing there’s someone with expert knowledge and advice only a phone call away makes such a difference to thousands of people each year.

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2006, just before graduating from high school. Mysteriously, I went almost completely blind one day.

An emergency medical flight to Brisbane and a multitude of tests later, I was told I had MS.

MS presents new challenges every day. For me, it’s a constant struggle between what I would like to do and what I am able to do.

I’m able to do so many things I was told I’d never be able to do, I love to share with people what a great life I’ve been able to live, and I owe so much of this to the amazing friends, family, and MS Queensland.

Your generous monthly gifts ensure anyone, at any age, and at any stage of their MS journey has the support they need.

Thank you so much!
