Support people living with Neurological Conditions

More than 1 million (1 in 4) Queenslanders live with a neurological condition, a widely-misunderstood group of disorders that affect your brain, spinal cord, and/or nerves, and can severely impact your health and your daily life. Neuro conditions include multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s, epilepsy, motor neuron disease (MND), migraines, stroke, and many others.

Support people like Emily

Emily has been living with MS since she was 17.

"Right now, my disability is probably at its worst, but I’m at my happiest – and that’s because I’ve tapped into the services I need.”

Support people like Ty

Ty (pictured left) survived a Stroke in 2021.

"They didn’t think he’d walk again, eating through a tube, so there was a huge impact on his family." - Max (pictured right), Ty's Carer

Support people like Josh

Josh was diagnosed with MS in 2007 and is now a Disability Access Consultant.

"I was perfectly able-bodied, and I didn’t actually realise how challenging life was once you had a disability or impairment."

Support people like Bel

Bel lives with two neurological conditions, Epilepsy and MS.

“It was awful. I had two young children in primary school at the time, and it just felt like my whole world was falling apart.”

About MS Queensland

add remove

MS Queensland is the largest provider of services for Queenslanders living with neurological conditions, and the peak body for multiple sclerosis (MS) in Queensland. We exist to connect Queenslanders living with neurological conditions to a better life.

In our 65+ year history, our organisation has evolved considerably – from a peak body for MS in Queensland, to a service provider for people living with MS. For the last two decades, we have been extending our services to Queenslanders with other neurological conditions with similar symptoms and support needs to MS, such as Parkinson’s, epilepsy, motor neuron disease (MND), stroke, and many others.

What are neurological conditions?

Neurological conditions are one of the five leading causes of death, one of the five most costly diseases to our health system, and one of the five fastest growing conditions. Neurological conditions can affect anyone at any age, typically lifelong, and they often worsen over time.

Every person’s journey with a neurological condition is different. The impacts of a neurological condition can also affect those close to you - family, friends, and colleagues. With 1 in 4 Queenslanders living with a neuro condition, every home and workplace likely to be affected by neuro in some way.
